چکیده
The elevational distributions of bacterial communities in natural mountain forests, especially along large gradients, have been studied for many years. However, the distributional patterns that underlie variations soil small-scale gradients urban ecosystems are not yet well understood. Using Illumina MiSeq DNA sequencing, we surveyed at three elevations on Zijin Mountain Nanjing City: hilltop (300 m a.s.l.), hillside (150 and foot hill (0 a.s.l.). results showed edaphic properties differed significantly with elevation. Bacterial community composition, rather than alpha diversity, strongly among (Adonis: R2 = 0.12, P<0.01). Adonis DistLM analyses demonstrated composition was highly correlated pH, elevation, total nitrogen (TN), dissolved organic carbon (DOC). degree scores, betweenness centralities, keystone species were distinct elevations. These demonstrate strong partitioning gradient Mountain. Soil pH elevation together drove distribution communities. This study broadens our understanding biotic co-occurrence associations from to short gradients.

Distinct soil bacterial communities along a small-scale elevational gradient in alpine tundra
The elevational diversity pattern for microorganisms has received great attention recently but is still understudied, and phylogenetic relatedness is rarely studied for microbial elevational distributions. Using a bar-coded pyrosequencing technique, we examined the biodiversity patterns for soil bacterial communities of tundra ecosystem along 2000-2500 m elevations on Changbai Mountain in China...
متن کاملSoil bacterial diversity patterns and drivers along an elevational gradient on Shennongjia Mountain, China
Understanding biological diversity elevational pattern and the driver factors are indispensable to develop the ecological theories. Elevational gradient may minimize the impact of environmental factors and is the ideal places to study soil microbial elevational patterns. In this study, we selected four typical vegetation types from 1000 to 2800 m above the sea level on the northern slope of She...
متن کاملHave bird distributions shifted along an elevational gradient on a tropical mountain?
An upward shift in elevation is one of the most conspicuous species responses to climate change. Nevertheless, downward shifts and, apparently, the absences of response have also been recently reported. Given the growing evidence of multiple responses of species distributions due to climate change and the paucity of studies in the tropics, we evaluated the response of a montane bird community t...
متن کاملLeaf economics of evergreen and deciduous tree species along an elevational gradient in a subtropical mountain
The ecophysiological mechanisms underlying the pattern of bimodal elevational distribution of evergreen tree species remain incompletely understood. Here we used leaf economics spectrum (LES) theory to explain such patterns. We measured leaf economic traits and constructed an LES for the co-existing 19 evergreen and 15 deciduous species growing in evergreen broad-leaved forest at low elevation,...
متن کاملReproductive limits of a late-flowering high-mountain Mediterranean plant along an elevational climate gradient.
Mountain plants are particularly sensitive to climate warming because snowmelt timing exerts a direct control on their reproduction. Current warming is leading to earlier snowmelt dates and longer snow-free periods. Our hypothesis is that high-mountain Mediterranean plants are not able to take advantage of a lengthened snow-free period because this leads to longer drought that truncates the gro...
